The Adam's Mark Indianapolis Hotel has joined mycarbonpledge.com to bring the city of Indianapolis, the country, and the planet one step closer to becoming environmentally friendly.  If we can motivate and encourage other organizations, corporations, and individuals to move into the Green direction by setting an example as one entity, then we have made a positive impact.  The Adam's Mark Hotel's objective is to do our part in the Green movement with the Green changes we have made and the Green changes we will continue to make.  Our pledge and goal is to change 6,000 bulbs.

Carmel Green Initiative is a coalition of citizens and community groups who promote and support the City of Carmel's commitment to reducing our impact on the environment and meeting the climate challenge. Our goals include reducing energy waste, promoting clean, renewable, and smart energy solutions, and educating the public. In 2007, the Indianapolis Zoo Board of Trustees passed a resolution that declared that human accelerated climate change presented a serious threat to wildlife and wild places.  The Trustees also mandated Zoo staff to develop initiatives that bring these concerns to the public’s attention and that take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  My Carbon Pledge is our first effort at addressing the problem of climate change.

As a school, we have been recycling paper for the last several years. The mycarbonpledge program is a natural fit for us to encourage students to save energy as well as trees. As a green builder, Pepper demonstrates our commitment to the environment starting within our own company. While Pepper has been replacing light bulbs for a couple of years, the mycarbonpledge program is an opportunity to generate excitement among employees for energy conservation and extend our commitment to our homes. Our goal is to replace 375 bulbs.

Rupert's kids believes the environment is important because all living things need healthy natural resources. We think being involved with a project such as mycarbonpledge is both educational and necessary in order to preserve our natural resources. Each member of our organization has pledged to change 20 incandescent bulbs to CFL bulbs to help reduce carbon emissions. Our hope is that other youth serving organizations will follow. Rupert's Kids is committed to making a difference. We are committed to the environment.

We were recently inspired by the Indianapolis Zoo’s dolphin show to focus on protecting our earth during the 2008-9 school year.  We would like to show how a small school can make big difference.  Springwood school students take part in many charitable activities throughout the year.  With the economy causing so many families to struggle we would like to mix our charitable work with earth conservation.  Many families have trouble living day to day, causing it to be difficult to for them to purchase items that are less harmful to the environment because those items generally cost more than older more harmful products.  Springwood students would like to contribute to mycarbonpledge by creating a program that  provides compact fluorescent light bulbs to struggling families through food donation programs throughout the Indy area.

With a campus-wide recycling program now in place, we challenge our faculty, staff, and students to make their offices and homes as energy efficient as possible.
