Our Partners

Thank you to all the businesses and organizations that support mycarbonpledge.com. They know that together we can make a difference.

Indianapolis Zoo (http://www.indianapoliszoo.com)

The Indianapolis Zoo inspires local and global communities to celebrate, protect, and preserve our natural world through conservation, education, and research. We are pleased to be able to work with other area organizations and serve the community in leading the charge in helping Indiana reduce CO2 emissions and do our part to help protect the environment.

Duke Energy (http://www.duke-energy.com)

Jim Rogers is a walking paradox. He’s the chief executive of Duke Energy, yet he’s been called “one of the electrical industry’s most vocal environmentalists” and is one of America’s most dogged advocates for federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions. So a partnership between Duke Energy and the Indianapolis Zoo on our conservation initiative www.mycarbonpledge.com is a perfect fit. Duke Energy will be encouraging its employees as well as its customers to go “Up 2, Down 2!” The Zoo is very excited to be partnering with Duke Energy to help protect Arctic wildlife.

Carrier (http://www.carrier.com)

Carrier has been an environmental leader for decades, with a clear and consistent strategy. Environmental stewardship is a core Carrier value that we think about every day in our products and services, in our operations and in our culture.  Carrier was among the first to set energy-reduction goals in our factories more than two decades ago. We were the first in our industry to phase out ozone-depleting refrigerants well ahead of regulatory mandates.

Our engineers continue to develop new technologies and products that protect our environment. Since 2000, Carrier has avoided 92 million metric tons of CO2 emissions through energy-efficient installations – equal to removing over 18 million passenger vehicles from the road.

Our founder, Willis Carrier, invented modern air conditioning in 1902. As an avid outdoorsman, he recognized the power of the natural environment. As a lifelong inventor, he understood the resolution of complex problems through continuous improvement. That pioneering spirit remains today in Carrier's approach to environmental innovation. We will never rest on our accomplishments but, instead, consistently look for ways to improve our products, our environment and our world.
